How not to communicate

Last week I posted the following in response to a comment about “Catholic rhetoric” at change.gov.

Rhetoric describes a positive thing – the study of writing or speaking as a means of communication or persuasion. If you are not persuaded that’s fine but for me Catholic moral teaching is as substantive and cohesive as anything I personally have read – anywhere. See: http://www.vatican.va/archive/index.htm

Your use of the word “Catholic” as a pejorative modifier must mean you don’t know the wisdom that is the Catholic Church. If you’ve read and disagree fine. I suppose though that you haven’t read and so are speaking from your ignorance.

Sorta doesn’t help your ability to communicate or persuade me does it?
