Perhaps some of you could add your comments with mine in response to the Time Magazine article: The Catholic Crusade Against a Mythical Abortion Bill
As Christine says, Time magazine and this author especially do not know the truth of Catholic moral teaching and are beholden to the leftish view on this. Also note the Digg site is a hotbed of liberal philosophical viewpoints; its fertile ground for a Christian blogger to comment to inform and maybe change some hearts.
I am unashamed to say I oppose FOCA.
This article declares FOCA to by mythical. Note.
Senator Boxer officially proposed FOCA the 110th Congress. http://frwebgate.access.gpo.gov/cgi-bin/getdoc.cgi?dbname=110_cong_bills&docid=f:s1173is.txt.pdf
Candidate Obama vowed to sign it as the first thing he does as President. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pf0XIRZSTt8
Cardinal Rigali makes much sense in his activism and his letter. Have you read it? http://www.catholicculture.org/culture/library/view.cfm?recnum=8421
FOCA is bad law based on bad science. It is an extreme social policy that a majority of Americans oppose. Any other opinion – including the authors’ – is political unreality. I can and have shown unbiased analysis and studies that show this. If you disagree I challenge you to provide supporting facts and argument to support your position.
I am not a member of any well oiled machine. I am Christian and I am Right but I am neither lying or being lied to by some “Christian Rght.”
