Euthanasia for Fun and Profit

I found this in my email this morning under the clearly Orwellian header of  “Health Care”

Report: Organs harvested from euthanized patients

Triangle Business Journal

A morbid story which however is important for all of us to know. Doctors are harvesting lungs from patients in Belgium who have been euthanized because the organs are in much better condition than those from someone who has died in an accident, that’s according to which cited a study in releasing the information.

It says:

 So I did:
…Once you accept that physicians are going to kill patients, it seems logical that they would harvest those organs for transplantation.
At least this writer understands the malice present.  This is bad folks.  It’s really really bad.

One Response to Euthanasia for Fun and Profit

  1. Laura says:

It is already worse. A friend’s uncle was euthanized in Europe, several months ago. A photo sent by one of the cousins shows an elderly man sitting up in bed, wearing a dress shirt and fidgeting with his tie as he prepares to be put to sleep. He is obviously not decrepit or incapacitated, yet his doctors had told him and his family that there was “no choice” other than euthanasia, and he and his family had simply accepted it.

We were supposed to have learned better by the eugenics programs of Nazi Germany, which horrified the world when the details became known. Instead, we’ve become desensitized, complacent.

The whole thing does reflect a utilitarian view of life – we get rid of those who aren’t good enough to take up space and resources, so it’s perfectly logical progress to move to harvesting spare parts from the unfit to help give help to those who might be fit.

Makes the whole horrible mess look downright noble, doesn’t it?

    I feel sick.

    Welcome back.
